Montreal’s DF have appeared on our blog a few times in the past for their creative music videos paired with beautiful instrumental saxophone music. Live, they’re known for their colourful light installations, and their new video for “Shillelagh” gives you some insight into what a live DF performance looks like.
DF tells us the song is “inspired by green hills and a gift from a neighbour.” You can definitely feel a sense of pastoral bliss from the interlocking lines of saxophone.
In the video, we see what DF performance looks like. DF says, “The audio-reactive light installation featured in the video is the largest we’ve ever used in live performance and measures 13ft. wide by 8ft. high.” The visual element really adds a sense of intimacy to an already intimate-sounding song.
