Jackson Reed‘s sophomore release Dark Areas of Description came out last month via So Sorry Records and now Reed has given one of its tracks the video treatment.
In the video for “Taller Than Me,” a hushed folky track, Reed stares directly at us as he walks backwards through a Toronto alleyway and mouths the lyrics. It feels like quite an intimate moment, as a result. “I think what’s special about the video is that when you look in someone’s eyes, you get a good sense of who there are,” Reed explains.
“The song’s subject lies somewhere between humility and humbleness. People often say that I am too quiet and the chorus definitely preserves that idea of acknowledging how small you are in the grand scheme of things. There’s also a nod to nostalgia for being near “the lake”, Goualis River and Lake Superior, where I grew up.”

Jackson Reed contributed to the site for a while so I guess we are biased.
