Premiere: Mother Sun – “Flower : One Eye”

As the weather starts to get warmer, here’s a dose of sunshine to keep you warm. Tomorrow, Kamloops’ Mother Sun will be releasing two singles – “Flower” and “One Eye” – as a teaser for their debut LP but you can have an early listen below care-of Factotum CO.

You can clearly hear the 60s psychedelic influences in these two songs, each which show a very different side of the band. “Flower” is a softer and gentler keys-centric song, starting with an image of flower petals in a jar and a certain amount of sunshine. Guitars start to shimmer as it moves on.

Meanwhile, “One Eye” gets considerably louder, relying much more on its guitars and hazy vocals. It’s the kind of song that could accompany a kaleidoscope of colours passing through your vision at any moment.
