Premiere: The Moody Tulips – “Too Far”

Snarky BabyThings change faster than we can adapt. Before we know it, we’re left behind. That’s the impetus behind “Too Far,” from The Moody Tulips’ debut EP Snarky Baby, out Dec. 7.

As the band’s David Levy told us, “The song vaguely deals with the complexities of modern life, lamenting our collective shift from an earlier existence that was much less complicated.”

Even if life is complicated, it sounds a lot fun with the band’s lo-fi, surf-pop-y sounds. The song is relentlessly upbeat and easy to groove along to. During the last minute, the song slows down, as though the band has collectively given up trying to keep up with change.

Catch the Moody Tulips’ CD release show at the Piston in Toronto, also on Dec. 7.
