Back in April Eleni called Timothy Ryan’s debut EP Dog Days a refreshing dose of “God-honest country.” There’s nothing artificial about the sprawling landscapes Ryan constructs on this EP, nor does the lonely atmosphere he conjures on songs like “Night Drives” feel inauthentic.
Now, he’s added visuals to this lonely road song, which Grayowl Point is premiering. The video shows Ryan in his house, and later by the water, in a world that seems curiously empty. That certainly fits, given the subject matter of the song, and the world seems empty enough to justify the sadness of the song. Later as the camera shows shots of empty chairs, you really get a sense of the despair the narrator of the song feels. See below for the aforementioned loneliness.
