In April, Nadia Pacey released her EP Leave the Window Open, the follow-up to her gorgeous dream-pop debut Puberty, and today she’s unveiling a ghostly new video for the EP’s haunting bonus track “Onions.”
In the grainy, black and white video, we see a frightened Pacey haunted by her ghosts – whether they’re people from her past or just her greatest fears remains for you to interpret. A gaggle of them stand outside her home, they linger in her bedroom, and we even catch a glimpse of Pacey herself transforming into a phantom.
Pacey had this to tell us about the making of the video:
“I really wanted to do a project with my friends, and people I knew who would want to be involved with a film. The song was chosen after we made it. It was cheap, spontaneous and produced (for the most part) in a few days. I’m really happy that because I asked and happened to be around great people that I was able to do that, because it’s not the same to direct a film when you’re the only one involved. It’s a group activity, much better with your friends and family, and now it’s finished. I hope they and other people like it.”
