Phew! That’s a lot of bands. I will do my best to not come up with twenty recommendations for tonight. Here goes:

  • Cabin 5 is looking pretty good. It’s already confirmed the Balconies and Saint Alvia and it’s secret guest should probably be something special as well.
  • The back room of the Cameron House looks to have some great singer-songwriter acts, notably Donovan Woods (look for an interview with him very soon) and Lake Forest, who if you don’t know by now is the solo project of Will Whitwham of the Wilderness of Manitoba.
  • The Central has got some great folk happening, including blog favourite Zachary Lucky and Corinna Rose.
  • La Belle Province Night at El Mocambo (downstairs) is solidly packed with talent. Adam & the Amethysts, Polaris-short-listed Galaxie, the Dears… Need I say more?
  • The Horseshoe Tavern has got Brett Caswell & the Marquee Rose playing alongside rockers the Pack A.D. and Monster Truck. Should be interesting.
  • Lee’s Palace has definitely got a party brewing with San Sebastian, Wildlife and Indian Handcrafts.
  • The Hand Drawn Dracula showcase at Parts & Labour, while only showing four artists, looks pretty damn great.Army Girls, Dusted, Little Girls.
  • Once again I urge you to go to the show at Rancho Relaxo which will be packed with artists. If you’re only going to see one act, see Honheehonhee, for the love of god. Your life will be changed for the better.
  • If you’re looking for a change from Canadian and American acts, there’s a Portugal spotlight happening at Revival while an Irish spotlight happens at the Rivoli.
  • The Silver Dollar has everything. Reversing Falls will open, you’ll be treated to the infectious pop of Modern Superstitions, you’ll have a party with Topanga and the show will be closed off with a set from Sandman Viper Command.
  • Audio Blood will once again prove that it’s got some unbeatable talent under its wings, with sets by JF Robitaille, Hands & Teeth and so much more.
  • Cold Specks will be performing at the Music Gallery, so if you didn’t get enough of her opening for St. Vincent, this will be your night.
  • Finally, you can’t go wrong with pop veteran Jenn Grant supported (strangely?) by Young Rival.
