Review- “This I’ve Heard”- New Hands

reviewed by Michael Veenstra

New Hands This I’ve Heard is the new 7″ release I never expected to like. The indie/electronic style has never been my cup of tea, so to speak. This, however, is my giant cold class of milk –  it is incredibly satisfying. The two songs are hooky, feature a male vocalist in Spence Newell who doesn’t feel like he has to sing in a lady’s register to be effective.

“This I’ve Heard” is fantastic, short, sweet and lovely. “Through the Woodwork” is sonically quite like “This I’ve Heard” and though it would have been nice to get a wider variety of sampling, overall This I’ve Heard is well worth the listen

The EP is a free download on Bandcamp.

Rating: Strong Hoot (Good)
